History of JNV
Mayurbhanj
By 1986 several Navodaya Vidyalaya started
functioning in spite of lack of proper infrastructure. Initially Principal
and staff members came on deputation basis and actual recruitment of
permanent posts were done exclusively for this residential set up in the
fall of eighties. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya of Mayurbhanj was started in
1988 in a rented building at Betnoti. The Vidyalaya was shifted to its
permanent site at Salbani in February’1995. The first batch of 10th
standard appeared in 1993 and since then 17 batches have appeared the
board examination. The first batch of 12th standard appeared in 1996 and
so far 14 batches of have written the AISSCE till now. At present the total strength of the Vidyalaya is
475.
At present the Vidyalaya is having its own permanent
campus on 30 acres land. Inside the campus all facilities like water,
electricity, play ground, sufficient staff quarters, guest rooms are
there. The main administrative building is a two storied building. There
are 13 class rooms for the students. The Vidyalaya is having its own
library with more than 6000 of books. Different room for practical of the
student in physics, chemistry & biology. The Vidyalaya is having two
separate computer labs with total 13 numbers of computers with internet
facility.
Inside the administrative building Principal’s
chamber, CCE chamber, Staff chamber, Office chamber, M.I. chamber, Games
& Sports chamber are there. A big M.P. Hall (Multipurpose Hall), one
of most beautifully decorated in this region is also there. All the public
meetings, assembly of the students, cultural programme and in door games
are conducted in it regularly. A beautiful garden is also there at center
of school.
Separate dormitories for boys and girls, 40
staff quarters, one Guest Room, Principal Quarter, two Dinning halls are
there inside the campus. To avoid water problem inside the campus two
submersible pump are operating 24 hours. Along with over head
tank. A diesel generator is also there to avoid any kind of
power interruption during the study of the children of the Vidyalaya.
